W.I.N - (What I Need) - Title One

Title I

Florence Rideout and Lyndeborough Central Schools qualify for program funding through the Federal Title I, Part A legislation. The New Hampshire Department of Education allocates federal funds to each school, with amounts changing each year based on the number of students receiving Free and Reduced Lunch. These funds aim to provide additional educational services to help children acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the State of New Hampshire's proficiency standards.

Florence Rideout and Lyndeborough Central Schools are designated as Targeted Assistance Schools, meaning a selection process determines which students will benefit from additional services. This support is given in addition to their regular classroom instruction. Parents are contacted, informed about the available services, and encouraged to provide permission for their children to participate.

The United States Department of Education and the New Hampshire Department of Education give comprehensive information about the federal law governing Title I.

Title 1 In Our Schools

Our school data team meets three times a year to review student academic performance and decide the best next steps for helping all students succeed academically. Using data from foundational math and reading screeners, diagnostic assessments, and classroom teacher recommendations, eligible students are selected to participate in our Title I WIN program.

The Title I WIN program provides additional academic support to students who are not making sufficient progress in reading or mathematics. Students in the WIN program receive targeted intervention in addition to regular classroom instruction. Support is provided by an interventionist in small groups during designated intervention times. As the year goes on and your student’s needs change, their Title I WIN services may also change. Students can receive support in more than one intervention area.

We are committed to your child’s success and their participation in the Title I WIN program. To learn more, please review our Learning Compact and Family Engagement Policy. Additionally, please review the Parent Right-to-Know document.
